Wyandotte

The large fowl Wyandottes are one of the traditional pure breeds kept at Eggcellent Acre. Wyandottes were developed in the United States in the late 1800s and were created to be a hardy, dual purpose bird, espeically for eggs. 

Wyandottes are known for their beautiful, rounded, "curvy" bodies with a broad frame and short, wide back. they have a rose comb which makes them particularlly cold-hardy. Wyandottes are very docile birds and are easy to manage. They're great layers and brillant broodies!
